All thought the first video gaming console came around the late 60’s, it never really got big before just about when Nintendo came out and if you don’t agree, well that was my time! Nintendo was the revolutionary console of the 80’s-90’s time, and keep in mind I said “was” because these days it’s just plain boring! The big game names that helped build this company are still around though like Mario, Zelda and Donkey Kong and seem like they’ll be around for a while, even with the advancement of technology.

Also there was the release of N64 and GameCube but around that time they never really got that big because of all the development with Sony and Xbox which were picking up where Nintendo left off with earlier models.
But other from the stepping stone Nintendo made for consoles, they also created the first handheld gaming console, which just about made another stepping stone for developers. The Gameboy, all though I’ve never played around with the first one, I’m sure we can all come to the agreement that the picture quality and graphics were probably horrible, just as with the first consoles that came out! Not only that it was more so huge, not pocket size, but still with development of Tetris, it really catapulted handhelds possibilities and brought once again amazing sales to Nintendo.

I completly agree that nintendo was awesome when we were kids, althought i still think the gamecube was still really popular at it's begginings. Xbox and playstation came after that and stole all of nintendo's older gamers. Honestly, if nintendo hadn't started this type of gamming, i doubt it would be as advanced as it is now.
ReplyDeleteExactly as I stated Rene. It's a shame that nintendo isn't fairing too well compared to the other consoles up these days. Their style was very unique and one that I bet a lot of us miss!
ReplyDeletePersonally I loved Super Nintendo and I still do because those games are classics. But I find that Nintendo games are more for younger children, with games like Donkey Kong and Mario who are Nintendos popular games where as the new systems like Playstation 3 and Xbox where Call of Duty are the popular games. I also agree that it's a shame they aren't fairing as much as the other consoles but Xbox and Playstation are constantly making changes to their games/graphics where as Nintendo just settles for what they've always had.
ReplyDeleteTo be honest I don't remember having a Super Nintendo or any gaming system when I was younger but I did and still do have my Game boy from Nintendo. Without Nintendo releasing there video game console I can not imagine how the video game industry would be like today. In our society we are surrounded by video games everywhere! All I know if they didn't take a chance at the video game industry maybe there would be a lower obesity rate, laugh out loud.
